October Newsletter
Hello friends! (✿^‿^)
September was a huge month for me creatively! I am so thankful to everyone who came out to my first solo show with Location 1980. We had a beautiful night under the full moon where we danced, enjoyed art and live music, and had a great weekend.
I would like to thank everyone who came out for my show! (☆▽☆) The opportunity to bring people together and talk about my work was so exciting.
Some Thoughts and Musings...
This month I had the privilege of visiting Italy! My husband and I visited Rome and Venice.
My top three favorite places we visited were the Borghese Museum, the Biennale Art Festival, and the Herculaneum Archeological Park.
As a student of art history, seeing the Borghese museum where I could see Caravaggio paintings in person was a genuinely emotional experience. The entire museum from the architecture, to the original art, to the temporary displays honestly blew my mind. Growing up in America, masterful paintings like this art not easily accessible, and I am so grateful I could see everything in person.
The Biennale is a biannual festival celebrating art from all over the world. It was such a joy that we were there at the same time, and we could see the best art being created in the world today. My favorite artist presented was Tammy Nguyen. Her art was layered, patterned, figurative, and showed her mastery of chaos.

Finally, the Herculaneum Archeological Park is a similar story to its much more famous cousin Pompeii - buried under the ashes of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Standing in the bath houses on the mosaics that have survived 2000 years I again found myself emotional. We humans have always desired gathering spaces, art, conversation, entertainment. Not much has changed in our hearts but our world has.

Really Good Thing This Month...
In preparation for my solo show, I started journaling every morning, 3 pages. In this journaling experience, I wrote about a world I wish to see my future niece living in, filled with sisterhood, art, nature and support. I found this practice extremely cathartic as a person who is incredibly fearful of the effects of climate change on our not so distant future, and feel more inspired than ever to work for a better tomorrow. I hope you will, too.
That’s it from me, for now. ❁´◡`❁)
